Terms of Reference

  1. SAAC will make recommendations on staffing and staffing assignments, observing class size guidelines as established by the Joint Staffing Committee. The committee shall follow the Staffing Article as per the contract.
  2. SAAC will make recommendations on allocation of sections from the option tally.
  3. SAAC shall have access to other resources as necessary (i.e. counselling, department heads, SIS Reports, etc.).
  4. It is expected that the SAAC will meet during the school day, with on-call coverage provided, if necessary.
  5. The Branch President, or designate, will chair the SAAC.
  6. Following the Branch Executive elections to be held as per the District 19 Teachers' Bargaining Unit constitution, the election of the second SAAC representative will occur. The term of office will coincide with the school year September to June.
  7. Election for the second SAAC representative shall be by secret ballot,
    supervised by the Branch Executive. The second SAAC representative must be a member of the Branch Executive.
  8. Term of office will be one year.
  9. SAAC will report in writing to their staff and to the President of District 19 within two weeks of the submission of the school organization to the Board in the spring and again in the fall, if there are changes.
